forget me not

About Us

Welcome to the Forget me not website. Forget me not was opened by Dennis Waterman on 24th January 1995 and the home has since strived to provide high standards of care and facilities to all the residents.

How it all started...

Due to Mr Pell's father's ailing health, he visited many homes in anticipation of obtaining somewhere safe and comfortable for his father to be cared for.  He was extremely disappointed with the lack of quality services available.  This was ironic as Mr Pell's father, GORDON PELL, had been a Slough councillor for many years during the 60's, 70's and 80's. Inquiries were then made to the necessary authorities to convert the family home into a residential care home for older people. By January 1995 Forget me not was registered and the first two residents were welcomed into the home.

The Pell family remained at the home, with their young children for several months, until room was needed for more residents.  The family home was to remain close by, in order to be able to support the staff and residents efficiently.

Even through many challenging changes in the care industry, Forget me not Home has continually provided a unique "homely" atmosphere.   Its owners are proud to be members of the Berkshire Care Association, where they obtain guidance and support in delivering a quality service.  www.berkscare.org

Mrs Pell is pleased to announce being elected Elderly Care Lead for BERKSHIRE CARE ASSOCIATION from July 2007.  She will assist the BCA in raising standards of care within the sector by representing the interests of everyone that uses and works in care.
